What an awesome giveaway! I think I'd love to see more DIY things as I start to ponder how to hold a multi-part event/reunion with people flying in from all over. Maybe more recipes and tips on hosting a group?

This is a fabulous giveaway for a hat fan such as myself! I would love to see more drink ideas for a crowd~we are planning an 80th family birthday party~and dinner party ideas. I love your site~the mix of wedding and other occasion ideas~as it is tho~

Pretty! I'd like to see more DIY ideas and possibly even something about altering an old dress for use during the wedding- I'm considering altering my mothers 1980's wedding dress to more suit my wedding style.

I adore all things millinery--her work would be perfect atop any hip hostess;) I think a nice addition to the blog would be more ideas for modern, eco-friendly, and fabulous "tablescapes" and party decor. In particular, I have a hard time finding lighting inspiration, but it sets the mood for every occasion!

oh how beautiful! Thanks so much for introducing us to such a fab artist.

I love the hip hostess blog, and I think a great addition would be how to host events in small spaces, or with limited time. Sometimes I feel like my place (1 bedroom apt) is too small to have people over, but with the right inspiration I think I could tackle larger groups.

Love the DIY tutorials as well!

i sorta , ok really love this millinery work, she is super talented.
personally i read your great blog for your fresh wedding/event ideas and food trends. dont change a thing, you are the best.

Wow - I'd love to see more creative table settings. Love your blog the way it is, though.

Wow! I'm an accessories girl:). I love all the ideas in your blog, but would be interested to see more "garnishing" ideas--whether it's adding a design to a cake, garnish to a drink, or different decorating touch to a finished table setting. That last bit of pizazz just adds the perfect finale!

I'm a hat devotee...I always say that I should've been born in the 1930's, so I could have worn hats every day! I'd like to see a few more suggestions about wine, and how to incorporate it into entertaining. My fiancee and I are very fond of wine, but a lot of our friends aren't used to drinking it. We're hoping to find good ideas on how to introduce them.

Courtney said...

AWESOME giveaway!!! Well, being a bride on a VERY small budget (not to mention the economic crisis) I would love more diy!

Lisa said...

I'd like more DIY and more food and wine ideas. I love DIY'ing and and a verifiable foodie!

What a fun giveway! I'm planning my wedding and I'd love to see color palette ideas. This site excites me about all the future events I can plan :)

I would love to see more environmentally friendly posts on your website as well as tips on how to find local vendors for weddings. I know that I would love to support local businesses and that many others would too.

What an awesome designer! I would love to see more cost effective hostess and party ideas. Even in this dwindling economy, many of us still love to host and almost everyone loves a party. I think it's even more important now to laugh and love in a time where everything else can seem dreary.

Allison said...

What an amazing giveaway! I plan to wear a fascinator for my wedding and her designs are exquisite.

I love the recipes and the drink info, especially the fact that you include beer! More food and bev coverage would be welcome. Keep up the good work.

Sherin said...

What a great giveway. I'd love to see more recipes and unique party ideas for hosting.

I always find such inspiration from seeing examples of real events that creative people have put together using their own style and talent. It's so easy to convince yourself that you simply must hire professionals, or order custom everything, when really some imagination and resourcefulness are all that's necessary. I enjoy your site already, but if anything, perhaps more features of "real" or diy events? (And I would be so happy to have a lovely headpiece to dress up my vintage wedding frock!)

LW said...

Definitely more DIY ideas - hostess gifts & decor would be great!

Anonymous said...

I think I would definitely like to see more DIY projects wedding related. Although...I LOVE your recipes so keep those coming!

Michelle said...

I can't get enough DIY wedding ideas, so I'd love to see more on the blog! I have already gotten so many good ideas and can't wait to see more.

kyli said...

I love the start-to-finish party ideas. Having food, theme, entertainment and design all tied together is great inspiration, and makes it easier to either throw something together with your instruction, or create something new with your ideas as inspiration.

Also, her pieces are incredible. Incredible. There, I said it twice.

Vix said...

I too would love to see more DIY ideas. Especially in our current economic situation, I feel like more and more are trying to see what they can do themselves.

sweetjacobs said...

What a great giveaway! I'd love to see more idea about how to keep everything cohesive...basically start to finish ideas to keep everything tied together!

I would love to see more DIY ideas/step-by-step guide. I also like the ideas on how to personalize and add special touches without spending an arm and a leg. Color coordination ideas... What are the trendy/"in" colors, etc....

Wonderful giveaway!

I would love to see more advice on creating a beautiful tablescape-- combining advice on DIY centerpieces, luminaries, etc with coordinating table settings. It would be wonderful to see how everything could jive together.

I am brand new to this blog (I love it, by the way!) so it's difficult for me to say what I'd like to see more of. But after reading the first page of posts, I must say that I love hearing about your wedding! So I'd love to hear more! :) I also really enjoy the recipes and would like to hear see more ideas for very low budget parties, including recipes. Thanks for the great blog and the amazing giveaway!

Patty said...

Hello! Since I am a hostess who delights in making her guests feel special and loved, please share your ideas on customized "thank you gifts". This can range from DIY projects to "oh-so-breathtakingly-fancy". Thank you!

Kiki said...

Hi! What a FABULOUS giveaway! I would love to see a HIP TWIST on Do-It-Yourself ideas...and what I mean by this is to have a new idea that you showcase...and then show a "Buy-it-now already done" option and a more inexpensive crafty hands-on "DIY" option. This would be so great because not everyone has the time to do-it-themselves, and not everyone has the money to buy-it already done! (similar to the "Chalk it up Post" you did last fall - which I loved!) I think it'd be a great way to capture your audience and inspire readers on all levels! And I think this approach could cover all topics from weddings/other events, entertaining, decorating, to day to day organization.
I'd also love to see more of your inspriation wedding boards in general, as I find them so useful and inspiring in planning my own wedding!
Thanks again for the contest opportunity!

I love this giveaway! A friend of mine and I are working on making some millinery flowers for my bouquet, and it would be swell to have a beautiful accent from a professional. As for Hip Hostess... I would say more wedding posts as I'm a mere 3 1/2 months away from mine, but to me almost all of your hostess related posts can be translated to the world of weddings, so... I will say keep the inventive, crafty ideas coming! I love adding personal touches to decor and cuisine and invites, etc., etc., etc. Viva la creatividad!

i'm in the midst of planning my own wedding, and i hate it. i hate it mostly because i'm a perfectionist so i want things to taste good, look good, and feel good.
what i love about your blog is seeing real weddings and events. but i'm curious about how a person's everyday style or interests translate into those events. i'm mostly curious about their planning process, and how they are able to organize certain ideas or elements and keep it within their budget.

Randee said...

How beautiful! I would love to learn more simple yet beautiful DIY projects. And perhaps more tips from unique real weddings.

Catskill Bride said...

Wow! What great pieces. I would love to see more DIY projects that make use of things already in the average household. I often find that a lot of DIY projects are almost as expensive as paying someone else to do it. I also think a great idea when posting real weddings would be to get the inspiration board from the bride. We always see the end result and it would be nice to see some of the thought process behind the event.

Considering the economic state, I would say more do it yourself with an emphasis on smaller budgets. This year is all about hope... I think every girl should be able to plan the event of her dreams, no matter what she has in her pocket book. Whether it be a dream wedding or a stylish dinner party, all you need is a little inspiration, creativity and know how... not a huge budget.

Always looking for more DIY ideas...the advice we have taken to heart in this whole exciting W-day planning process is to be sure to make it personal, meaningful and memorable ~ and DIY projects inspire just that. We have several successfully in the works, but the one I cannot quite manage the whole fascinator-bidrcage project. :) So even if I am not the lucky one, any help would be welcomed!! I have found all tutorials out there in www-land and still cannot get the look i envision {insert a charlie brown 'ugh' here}
