Fabulous Contest for a Fabulous Book

Contest.

Recently, we had a wonderful guest post from Colleen Mullaney, the author of the new book "The Stylish Girl's Guide to Fabulous Cocktails." Colleen really knows her stuff when it comes to entertaining and the ever-important element of libations.

So we were extremely excited when Colleen offered to give one of our lucky readers a free copy of her fabulous new book! I'll tell you that it's chock-full of great drink recipes as well as ideas for party playlists, festive attire recommendations, theme ideas and much more.

To enter our contest, leave us a comment telling us your favorite signature drink and why. Make sure to include an email where we can reach you. We'll accept entries until July 9th and announce the winner on July 12th. We can't wait to hear what you like to serve at your parties. Good luck, gang!

I just moved from the South to California. For my fiancé's friends I make mint juleps to remind them of my roots. But instead of using regular mint, I use chocolate mint that I grow in my herb box!

Mine is a frozen slushy summery drink that I cannot even remember the proper name of. (We have since renamed it Susan's Summer Slush.) Supposed to have a splash of Squirt at the end, but we have given up on that and drink it straight!

I love to make pineapple-tinis in the summer time.

Pour coconut rum, pineapple and grenadine over ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake Shake Shake, pour in a glass with a pineapple slice as a garnish. Frothy, fun and delish summer sipping!

I'm very lucky to have a husband who makes amazing, creative cocktails so he tries lots of recipes on me. My favorite, especially in the summer, is one made with vodka, fresh watermelon juice, lime, and mint.

Where we live we are pretty much on the boat from sun up to sun down on summer weekends and typically end up somewhere every night in the neighborhood via golf cart..this make for looonnngggg hours! So we drink 5th gears..they are long islands made with redbull as the non alcoholic mixer..definitely allow for the late nights!!

My fave summer drink is a Peach Delight- In a blender add one ripe peach (pit removed), 1/2 can of lemonade concentrate and 1 Cup of Vodka. Fill up with ice and blend until smooth. Be careful-- they can sneak up on you.

My favorite drink to serve at a party is champagne, as part of a champagne bar. I love to offer 2 or 3 juice mixers like OJ, Peach, or cranberry, and recently discovered that a splash of Amaretto in a mimosa is divine!

I love a good champagne cocktail (champagne with a sugar cube that was soaked in bitters). It's so fun to watch the sugar dissolve, and it gives the champagne an extra flavorful kick!

My favorite is equal parts passion fruit concentrate and rum with lots of ice... blended really well. My fiance's friends have nicknamed them painkillers, because you can feel no pain after you've had a few!

Chai liqueur
Baileys

Dessert and a drink all in one...line inside the martini glass with chocolate syrup to be out of control :)

My favorite drink is a passion fruit margarita. I consumed many passion fruit growing up in Australia and now that I live in Texas, the margarita is the drink to have. Combining these make a great passion fruit margarita. This does make me a happy girl.

My favorite cocktail this summer is the lemon martini: 1.5oz Lemon Vodka, 1.5oz Vanilla Vodka, 1oz Lemoncello, 2oz FRESH squeezed lemon juice, 1/2oz (1T) simple syrup. The fresh lemon juice is essential - store-bought makes the drink too bitter. Be careful, though: two or three go down easily, and pack a serious punch!

Whiskey and soda. Not only does it force you to sip slowly(it can't be polished off in moments like an Amaretto Sour or a Sex on the Beach), it always surprises my drinking companions. ;)

I love Mojitos and I love them even more when I make them. LOL I use fresh mint from my garden and make a simple syrup because I hate the grit from sugar when other bartenders just dump it in there. :)

I recently had my first taste of Get Loose Juice, a concoction my friends created. I know it uses at least one bottle of champagne, but I'm not sure what else is in it. It is fabulous, and it lives up to its name!
