I can't tell you how much I appreciate this post! I've read several blogs that have talked about how wonderful it is to have a 3 day weekend and how much fun they are planning on having - cookouts, home improvement projects, etc. All this talk with no mention of why Memorial Day is a national holiday - and has been since 1868. Bless those families that have lost loved ones, and remember their sacrifice.
As the wife of a former Marine, I thank you for remembering!
