Screwdriver Coat Rack

What is that you ask?  Well, it's a totally cool shelf made by homemade-modern with repurposed screwdrivers.  I love this idea for a little boy's room or my husband feels his ties are art worthy, so this would give him a very manly way to display them.  This summer I have really gotten into flea markets and I love finding these cool projects and then searching for the tools (pun intended) to make it happen.  You can buy screw drivers at the flea market for $1 all day long.  Cool project and a search mission for the market.

Corn, Corn and more Corn

I love summer and everything that comes with it and that includes fresh corn on the cob.  You can always find fresh corn in our fridge and this year I plan to experiment more than ever.  If you are like me and can't get enough then here are a few recipes that you're going to love.

Watermelon Plates

Check out this great idea from three many cooks.  When you don't have enough plates just slice up some watermelon!  Practical, unique and delicious.  In the photo they are serving basil-proscuitto salad with an edible plate.  YUM!

DIY at its finest!

How many times have you set the table before guests arrived only to wish you would have picked up something with a pop of color that would really bring everything together.  Well how about buying a few items up front and always having that option in 15 minutes?  I think this idea is fun, quick and ideal for outdoor dining.  Design Improvised deserves a gold star for this adorable 15 minute runner.

Honey Baked Nectarines

Stone fruit starts gettin good in June and lasts all summer long.  I love this idea of halving the nectarines and then baking them in a hot oven for a short time.  Then the best part they get topped with a little honey, praline crumbs and vanilla creme fraiche.  I usually try to avoid the oven in the summer but I'm thinking that a hot grill would also do the trick.  Only one way to find out!
